We arrived for the show in Dublin at twilight. The early evening sky appeared luminous.
Gene peered out of the escape hatch on top of the bus and took a photograph of the Irish scoolbys waiting for their bus.
We walked into the hall and discovered another room acoustically sound and embellished with beautiful appointments. This pipe organ was most impressive.
Since we were sending the evening's show over radio, we would again be unable to take photos of ourselves performing. So I quickly took pictures of the last sound check of the European tour, 1997...
Can't you just imagine all those rows of smiling Irish eyes and faces!
See my little Taylor
guitar on the right!
See Gene seriously adjusting his fiddle amp before he begins to saw away, and scolding me for taking pictures in such horrible room light...
See Richard scolding me for shooting too many pictures of him (the "go" button just stuck...)
See Joan trying to get her sound just right, but can't hear for Richard's and my arguing about how to use a camera...
See Mark quietly checking his bass sound, minding his own business...
See Gene and Carol negotiating the solo section for "Lily" later in the evening...
See Joan saying to J.D. "I can't get anyone to listen to me..."
See Mark - - glad he wasn't in trouble, too!
"Where's Adam? "queries Joan, Sr., also glad she's not in trouble...
Then we all go up to our dressing rooms to wait for Crook's final curtain call. Gene takes the camera and snaps a final shot of me, putting on my guitar nails! Carol peers in the door and asks if I'll be wearing the brown velour tonight... that's about a Jenny Craig dream away!!
On the last bus ride back to the hotel together, we took a few parting shots of the crew and our splendid digs...
